Un Corazón Bajo la Manta /A Heart Under the Blanket

Una mañana María se levantó,
dormía plácida hasta que amaneció,
de su cama con pereza se paró
y las cobijas con fuerza sacudió.

Cuando hizo esto,
encontró bajo la manta algo bello,
era un corazón pequeño
que tomó y lo puso en el pecho.

One morning, María woke up,
she had slept peacefully until dawn,
she got out of bed lazily
and shook the blankets vigorously.

When she did this,
she found something beautiful under the blanket
it was a small heart,
which she picked up and placed against her chest.

Con un corazón lleno de amor,
salió a caminar con ilusión
en ese paseo el corazón se cayó
y María de esto no se percató.

Por el lugar pasó una flor
y encontró sobre el pavimento el corazón,
con alegría lo recogió
y en su pecho lo colocó.

With a heart full of love,
she set out for a walk, full of hope
on that walk, her heart fell to the ground,
and María didn’t even notice.

A flower came by
and found the heart on the pavement,
with joy, it picked it up
and placed it against its chest.

La flor se fue contenta y llena de amor
con el corazón que halló,
mientras tanto María a casa regresó
y como era tarde en la cama se recostó.

Cuando despertó de su sueño,
levantó las cobijas con esmero
encontró un corazón nuevo
que tomó y se puso otra vez en su pecho.

The flower left, happy and full of love,
with the heart it had found,
while Maria returned home
and, since it was late, lay down in bed.

When she awoke from her sleep,
she carefully lifted the blankets
and found a new heart,
which she took and placed once more against her chest.

Y es que cada nuevo despertar,
trae una nueva oportunidad,
siempre podemos volver a empezar
y amar lo que la vida nos da.

The fact is, every new day
brings a new opportunity,
we can always start over
and love what life gives us.
