Un astro oscuro / A dark star
Una abuela esperaba sentada,
a que algo extraordinario pasará,
su gato la custodiaba
mientras ella con atención observa.
De repente cae del cielo
un astro color negro,
el gato va a recogerlo
y se lo entrega a la abuela con esmero.
A grandmother sat waiting,
for something extraordinary to happen,
her cat guarded her
while she watched attentively.
Suddenly, a black star
fell from the sky,
the cat went to pick it up
and handed it to the grandmother with care.
La abuela la lleva a casa,
si cayó es porque está dañada,
quiere repararla
para verla volar en la alborada.
Toma una bufanda blanca
y envuelve la estrella opaca,
quiere que de nuevo sea clara
para que titile con gracia.
Grandmother takes it home,
if it fell, it must be damaged,
she wants to repair it
so she can see it fly at dawn.
She takes a white scarf
and wraps the dull star,
she wants it to be bright again,
so it can shine gracefully.
Y cuando ha terminado,
le dice que se vaya volando,
pero la estrella no hace caso
y se trepa en su cabello blanco.
La estrella buscaba un lugar seguro
y en la abuela encontró uno,
ahora brilla entre cabellos confusos
y la abuela está feliz con el astro oscuro.
And when she has finished,
she tells it to fly away,
but the star pays no attention
and climbs into her white hair.
The star was looking for a safe place
and found one in the grandmother,
now it shines among tangled hair
and the grandmother is happy with the dark star.
