Un animal excéntrico / An eccentric animal

Va caminando por la pradera
un animal de tez negra
hasta una flor naranja se acerca
se sube sobre ella
y se la come sin reserva.

Luego sigue su camino,
por un terreno baldío,
con afán atraviesa el sitio,
entra a una casa de blanco piso
y sigue sin pedir permiso.

An animal with black skin
walks across the meadow
and approaches an orange flower,
it climbs on top of it
and eats it without hesitation.

Then it continues on its way,
across a vacant lot,
eagerly crossing the site,
entering a house with white floors
and continuing without asking permission.

Llega hasta la mesa
y unas zanahorias encuentra,
le agrada su tonalidad excéntrica,
es como las flores de la pradera
y toma una para comerla.

La primera mordida le encanta,
es crocante y su sabor le agrada,
sigue comiendo afanada
y cuando acaba
su pelo se a teñido de forma exagerada.

She reaches the table
and finds some carrots,
she likes their unusual color,
which is like the flowers in a meadow
and takes one to eat.

She loves the first bite
it's crunchy, and she likes the taste,
she continues eating eagerly
and when she finishes,
her hair is dyed an exaggerated color.

El animal ya no es negro,
ahora es anaranjado y excéntrico,
se siente bien con su pelo,
lleva becataroteno en su cuerpo
y se marcha del lugar sin miedo.

Regresa a la pradera
y entre el cesped se sienta,
parece una flor nueva
entre tanto verde resalta su belleza
trajo color al jardín que opaco era.

The animal is no longer black,
now it is orange and eccentric,
it feels good with its fur,
it carries beta-carotene in its body
and leaves the place without fear.

It returns to the meadow
and sits among the grass,
it looks like a new flower
its beauty stands out among so much green
it brought color to the garden that was dull.
