Sorpresa para un gato / A surprise for a cat

Un gato sale con una maleta
y camina por el terreno con cautela
hasta que a una zona baldía llega
donde hay una gran cueva
alta y de piedra.

El gato en este lugar abre la maleta
y saca una roca pequeña,
la sube hasta la cueva
y ahí se sienta junto a esta,
es que la roca una silueta dibujada lleva.

A cat comes out with a suitcase
and walks cautiously across the land
until it reaches a wasteland
where there is a large cave,
tall and made of stone.

The cat opens the suitcase in this place
and takes out a small rock,
carries it up to the cave
and sits there next to it,
because the rock has a silhouette drawn on it.

El gato habla y habla con la piedra
y el sol desde lejos lo observa,
es una piedra, vida no lleva,
pero para el gato es su compañera,
un cuerpo inerte con una silueta.

Cuando el felino se queda dormido,
el sol baja de su sitio
toma la roca y la lleva consigo,
sin pedir permiso
dejando al pobre gato sólito.

The cat talks and talks to the rock,
and the sun watches from afar,
it is a rock, it has no life,
but for the cat it is its companion,
an inert body with a silhouette.

When the cat falls asleep,
the sun descends from its place,
takes the rock and carries it away,
without asking permission,
leaving the poor cat all alone.

El animal al despertar se entristece
su roca no está donde siempre,
sentado y en nostalgia permanece,
hasta que ve venir alguien de frente
una niña de atuendo morado fuerte.

Ella se acerca animada,
con los brazos abiertos para que con ella vaya,
el gato sin pensarlo se lanza,
ahora tiene una amiga real, no dibujada
una compañía verdadera e ilimitada.

When the animal wakes up, it feels sad
its rock is not where it usually is,
it sits there, overcome with nostalgia,
until it sees someone coming toward it
a little girl dressed in bright purple.

She approaches cheerfully,
with open arms, inviting it to come with her,
without thinking twice, the cat jumps up,
now it has a real friend, not a cartoon character,
a true and unlimited companion.

A veces hay cosas que se van
y mucho miedo esto nos da,
si mantenemos la serenidad,
algo mejor la vida te dará,
solo hay que saber esperar.

Sometimes things go away
and this frightens us greatly,
but if we remain calm,
life will give us something better,
we just have to know how to wait.
