Los rayos de sol extraviados / Stray rays of sunlight

Iba un jinete en su caballo,
con su cabello despeinado,
se escuchan sus pasos
y poco a poco se van acercando.

Entre los árboles pasan
y recogen una rama dorada,
se la llevan, sin preguntar nada,
al parecer saben quien la dejó olvidada.

There was a rider on his horse,
with his hair tousled,
his footsteps can be heard
and little by little they come closer.
Between the trees they pass
and pick up a golden branch,
they take it away, without asking any questions,
apparently they know who left it behind.

En casa está el sol dormido
y en su aposento el jinete entra sin aviso,
con sus pasos lo despierta
pobre sol, le dañaron la siesta.

El jinete desciende de su caballo
y entrega al sol lo encontrado,
no son ramas doradas, son rayos,
que el sol dejó en el bosque olvidados.

At home the sun is asleep
and into his chamber the horseman enters without warning,
with his footsteps wakes him up
poor sun, they hurt his nap.
The horseman descends from his horse
and gives to the sun what he has found,
they are not golden branches, they are rays,
that the sun left in the forest forgotten

Cuando el sol sale a trabajar,
para con su luz el mundo alegrar,
por el bosque debe pasar
con sus rayos entre las ramas del lugar.

El gran astro otra vez dejó,
una rama dorada, sin preocupación,
quien la encuentre sabe donde vive el sol
y se la llevarán sin complicación.

When the sun goes out to work,
to brighten the world with its light,
it must pass through the forest
With its rays among the branches of the place.
And, the great star again left,
a golden branch, without a care,
whoever finds it knows where the sun lives
and will take it away without complication.
