Los Destellos de la Luna / The Moon's Glimmers
La Luna no estaba en el cielo,
es raro este acontecimiento,
luego la vi, venía lento,
sobre una yegua de agradable aspecto.
Me acerque a saludar
pero a la yegua no le gustó mi actuar,
dejo la Luna conmigo sin preguntar
y se marchó sin rebuznar.
The Moon wasn't in the sky,
what a strange occurrence,
then I saw her; she was coming slowly,
riding a mare with a pleasant appearance.
I approached to say hello,
but the mare didn't like what I was doing;
she left the Moon with me without asking
and rode off without neighing.
La Luna debe volver al cielo,
debo buscar una solución para esto,
me voy por un momento
y con un murciélago regreso.
Le explico la situación al animal
y el la Luna decide agarrar,
volando con ella se va
y la deja en el cielo, dónde siempre debió estar.
The Moon must return to the sky,
I must find a solution to this,
I’ll be gone for a moment
and I’ll come back with a bat.
I explain the situation to the animal
and the bat decides to grab the Moon,
flying off with her,
and leaves her in the sky, where she always belonged.
Los dos miramos al cielo
y la Luna nos muestra sus destellos,
ilumina nuestros rostros sin esfuerzo
y nos da las gracias desde el firmamento.
Y ahí el gran astro se queda,
no necesita que la lleve la yegua,
ahora en el cielo pasea
y alumbra con su brillo la tierra entera.
We both look up at the sky,
and the Moon shows us its sparkles,
effortlessly illuminating our faces
and thanking us from the heavens.
And there the great celestial body remains,
it doesn’t need the mare to carry it,
now it wanders across the sky
and illuminates the entire earth with its radiance.
