Lo que añoraba la Luna / What the Moon Longed For

La Luna apareció en la chimenea
se cayó del cielo un día cualquiera
no hay motivo para que esto ocurriera
lo bueno es que no se lastimó la cabeza.

Salió caminando entre el hollín,
quería hasta su hogar ir,
no encontró la puerta para salir,
el lugar parecía un laberinto sin fin.

The Moon appeared in the chimney,
it fell from the sky on an ordinary day,
there is no reason for this to have happened,
the good thing is that it didn't hurt its head.

It walked out through the soot,
it wanted to go home,
it couldn't find the door to leave,
the place looked like an endless maze.

Llegó hasta una habitación,
donde hay un tablero marrón,
toma una tiza de claro color
y empieza a dibujar sin limitación.

Hace una gran casa,
con chimenea y nubes altas,
se dibuja ella en el cielo colgada
dicen que si se desea, se cumple la añoranza.

She reaches a room,
where there is a brown board,
takes a light-colored piece of chalk
and begins to draw without restraint.

She draws a big house,
with a chimney and high clouds,
she draws herself hanging in the sky,
they say that if you wish for something, your longing will be fulfilled.

La Luna dejó su dibujo en el lugar
y recorrió los pasos, pero para atrás,
llegó a la chimenea con celeridad
y se subió en ella sin nada pensar.

Entre la chimenea se perdió,
quizás por la pared escaló
y cuando de nuevo la vi yo,
estaba en el cielo como lo

The Moon left her drawing in place
and retraced her steps, but backwards,
she reached the chimney quickly
and climbed up it without thinking twice.

She disappeared into the chimney,
perhaps climbing up the wall,
and when I saw her again,
she was in the sky, just as she had dreamed.
