Las galletas igualitas / The identical cookies
Hasta un armario de zapatos,
llega una polilla andando,
trae arrastrando algo,
una galleta de color opaco.
La polilla lleva la galleta,
hasta un zapato de color canela
ahí las dos entran
y se pierden entre la oscuridad interna.
Even in a shoe closet,
a moth arrives on foot,
dragging something behind it,
an opaque cookie.
The moth carries the cookie
to a cinnamon-colored shoe,
where both enter
and disappear into the darkness inside.

From the bottom of the shoe peeks out
a strangely shaped face,
it is the cookie with astonishing makeup
and a beautiful smile.
The cookie says goodbye and leaves
and the moth continues with its cause
going for another opaque cookie
to gracefully apply makeup to.

alegres y maquilladas igualitas.
This cookie doesn't want the shoe to come in,
but the moth won't let her leave,
and the makeup doesn't look the same,
because this time her face is serious.
The first cookie returns with her smile
and teaches her friend to smile.
Now there are two pretty cookies,
happy and wearing identical makeup.
