Las alas de la yegua / The mare's wings

Una yegua de chocolate,
agraciada y elegante,
camina sin agitarse,
hasta una rama que ahí yace.

En este tallo hay flores violetas,
una sobresale por su palidez extrema,
es albina, blanca pureza
y la yegua en su lomo la lleva.

A chocolate mare,
graceful and elegant,
walks without stirring,
to a branch that lies there.

On this stem there are violet flowers,
one stands out for its extreme pallor,
is albino, pure white
and the mare carries it on her back.

Con su flor va caminando,
hacía un establo pardo,
quiere dormir un rato
ha caminado demasiado.

Su cama es confortable,
hecha con aserrín muy suave,
la noche llega de forma ágil
y la yegua se duerme sin afanes.

With her flower she walks,
towards a brown stable,
wants to sleep for a while
she has walked too far.

Her bed is comfortable,
made with very soft sawdust,
the night arrives nimbly
and the mare falls asleep without anxiety.

Con el amanecer la yegua despierta,
se levanta de su cama sin pereza,
no lleva la flor de palidez extrema,
ahora tiene alas de gran belleza.

Aquella flor creció y creció,
y en alas se transformó,
desde ese día nunca más la tierra pisó
y la yegua por el cielo voló.

With the dawn the mare wakes up,
gets up from her bed without laziness,
does not carry the flower of extreme pallor,
now has wings of great beauty.

That flower grew and grew,
and transformed into wings,
from that day never again the earth stepped on
and the mare flew through the sky.

Este cuento está inspirado en una organización sin ánimo de lucro llamado ACMA, ubicado en Argentina y donde el doctor Corse junto con muchas personas buenas y bellas, rescatan equinos en muy mal estado, dándoles una segunda oportunidad. Algunas viven muchos años, otros solo algunos meses, pero el amor que le ponen a su trabajo, es digno de admirar, una lucha incansable que llena al mundo de esperanza.

Mi admiración para ellos y para todas las personas que cuidan, protegen y aman los animales.
