Una zarigüeya llega a casa
por la puerta entra afanada,
camina por la baldosa clara
hasta una habitación cercana.
Observa una planta con detenimiento
y ve una flor de bello aspecto,
intenta alcanzarla con esmero
pero no la alcanza, esta demasiado lejos.
An opossum arrives home,
entering busily through the door,
walking across the light-colored tile floor
to a nearby room.
It observes a plant carefully
and sees a beautiful flower,
it tries to reach it carefully,
but cannot reach it; it is too far away.
Va por un banco azul largo
y en este se sube de inmediato,
toma la flor con cuidado
y la lleva feliz en sus manos.
