La zanahoria políglota/ The Multilingual Carrot

Hay una banana partida,
parece que la cortaron sin medida
ella intenta volver arriba,
dónde se unen de forma sencilla
y parece una más de las frutas amarillas.

Pero siente que no encaja,
es que una mitad le falta,
entonces, se baja
y camina con ansias
y desde la mesa se lanza.

There’s a split banana,
it looks like someone cut it without thinking,
it tries to climb back up,
where they come together so simply
and it looks like just another yellow fruit.

But it feels out of place,
because it’s missing a half,
so it climbs down
and walks eagerly
and jumps off the table.

Cae en el suelo,
no daña su cuerpo,
se levanta y camina derecho,
hasta donde hay alguien leyendo,
es una zanahoria de color intenso.

El tubérculo nota su presencia
y el libro a un lado deja,
estudia otras lenguas
y la banana hasta ella se acerca,
es que habla su idioma sin problema.

It falls to the ground,
doesn’t hurt itself,
gets up and walks straight ahead,
toward someone who’s reading,
it’s a brightly colored carrot.

The root vegetable senses its presence
and sets the book aside,
studies other languages,
and the banana even approaches it,
it speaks its language without a problem.

La zanahoria le entiende bien
quiere una sonrisa está vez,
con dedicación la logra hacer
y la banana sonríe por primera vez,
gracias a un tubérculo que políglota es.

La banana se va contenta
y la zanahoria de nuevo se sienta,
leerá para seguir aprendiendo de lenguas
y poder hablar con quién quiera,
sin importar la especie que sea.

The carrot understands her well,
she wants a smile this time,
and with dedication, she manages to make one,
and the banana smiles for the first time,
thanks to a multilingual root vegetable.

The banana leaves happily,
and the carrot sits down again,
she’ll read to keep learning languages
and be able to talk to anyone she wants,
no matter what species they are.
