La yegua de la tienda / The mare in the store
Compré un caballo de madera,
para adornar mi vivienda
lo encontré en una tienda,
donde había cosas bellas.
La vendedora muy amable,
me ayudó a ponerlo en mi carruaje,
lo atamos con una cuerda sin afanes
para que viaje seguro sin precipitarse.
I bought a wooden horse,
to decorate my home
I found it in a store,
where there were beautiful things.
The saleswoman very kindly,
helped me to put it in my carriage,
we tied it with a rope without anxiety
so that it could travel safely without rushing.
Al llegar a casa con cuidado,
lo bajé del auto,
lo llevé hasta el lugar indicado
y lo limpié con un paño.
Luego me fui a descansar,
fue un viaje largo desde aquel lugar,
dormí por una hora y algo más
y cuando desperté no todo estaba igual.
When I got home carefully,
I got him out of the car,
I took him to the indicated place
and cleaned him with a cloth.
Then I went to rest,
was a long trip from that place,
I slept for an hour and some more
and when I woke up everything was not the same.
El caballo de palo tenía un compañero,
otro animal más pequeño,
no sé si vino del cielo
o nació en este aposento.
Descubrí que no era macho,
era una yegua lo que había comprado
y no era de palo,
era real y traía un potro castaño.
The stick horse had a companion,
another smaller animal,
I do not know if it came from heaven
or was born in this room.
I discovered that it was not a male,
it was a mare that I had bought
and it was not a stick horse,
it was real and it had a chestnut colt.
Tras la compra,
salí premiado.
After the purchase,
was a winner.
