La tapa que pasea / The walking cover

Va una tapa caminando,
es de un tarro volteado,
ella la ocasión ha aprovechado,
para dar un vuelto sin ser autorizado.

Se va bastante rápido,
cuatro patas le han brotado,
sale de aquel cuarto
y se va a explorar el mundo sin miedo al fracaso.

A lid is walking,
it's from an upturned jar,
she has taken advantage of the occasion,
to give a change without being authorized.

It goes quite fast,
four legs have sprouted,
she leaves that room
and goes to explore the world without fear of failure.

Cuando se topa con un obstáculo,
se queda quieta por un rato,
sus patas crecen a lo largo
y sobre este pasa sin ningún cuidado.

Llega hasta el basurero
y ahí siente el agotamiento,
se queda dormido por un momento
hasta que recobre el ánimo en su cuerpo.

When it runs into an obstacle,
it stands still for a while,
its legs grow lengthwise
and over this it passes without any care.

It reaches the garbage can
and there it feels the exhaustion,
it falls asleep for a moment
until he regains the courage in his body.

Cuando la tapa despierta
está enredada en una cinta gruesa,
esto no le importa a ella
y se la lleva puesta.

Regresa a su aposento
y el frasco la espera sin desespero
ahora lleva un adorno nuevo,
una cinta como recuerdo de su paseo.

When the lid wakes up
it is tangled in a thick ribbon,
this doesn't matter to her
and takes it with her.

She returns to her room
and the flask waits for her without despair
