La sorpresa en el bolso / The surprise in the bag

Llegué de trabajar
y mi perro salió a saludar,
un abrazo nos dimos, no más,
dejé mi bolso y me fui a descansar.

Mi perro se quedó dormido,
él es bastante consentido,
el bolso cayó al piso
y no hizo ruido.

I got home from work
and my dog came out to greet me,
we hugged, nothing more,
I put down my bag and went to rest.

My dog fell asleep.
He's quite spoiled,
the bag fell to the floor
and made no sound.

Del bolso salió una figura,
pequeña y sin hermosura,
se trepó en el perro con premura
y ahí se acomodó sin amargura.

Cuando el perro despertó,
algo extraño sobre él sintió
y cuando al ser raro vió,
perdió la conciencia y se desmayó.

A figure emerged from the bag,
small and unattractive,
climbed onto the dog hastily
and settled there without bitterness.

When the dog awoke,
it felt something strange on top of it,
and when it saw the strange creature,
it lost consciousness and fainted.

Al escuchar el ruido fui a verlo
y encontré a mi perro en el suelo,
lo desperté con amor bueno
y noté al ser excéntrico.

Lo levanté, sobre la mesa lo coloqué
y cuando menos lo esperé,
le crecieron patas y lo ví bien,
era un perro de color beige.

When I heard the noise, I went to check it out
and found my dog on the floor,
I woke him up gently
and noticed he was acting strange.

I picked him up, placed him on the table,
and when I least expected it,
he grew legs and I saw clearly that
he was a beige dog.

Ahora tengo dos perros,
uno joven y otro viejo,
una claro y otro color caramelo,
una familia llena de peros y pelos.

Now I have two dogs,
one young and one old,
one light-colored and one caramel-colored,
a family full of dogs and fur.
