La Sonrisa de la Zanahoria / The Carrot's Smile
Una zanahoria observa algo raro
y se acerca a revisarlo,
sube a un tronco para ver desde lo alto
y poder tener un mejor ángulo.
Se da cuenta que no hay amenaza
y se acerca con calma,
toma la cosa rara por una pata
y con eso se marcha.
A carrot spots something strange
and goes over to take a look,
climbing onto a log to see from above
and get a better view.
It realizes there’s no danger
and approaches calmly,
picks up the strange thing by one leg
and walks away with it.
Avanza hasta un camino
dónde hay rocas de tonos distintos,
se sienta entre ellas con motivo
y con la cosa rara que trajo consigo.
Toma una de las rocas
y en la cosa rara la acomoda,
quedó una figura hermosa
con ojos y una actitud esplendorosa.
He walks to a path
where there are rocks of different hues,
sits down among them,
along with the strange object he brought with him.
He picks up one of the rocks
and places it on the strange object
the result is a beautiful figure
with eyes and a radiant expression.
Aquel ser se va contento,
con su increíble nuevo aspecto
la zanahoria se queda viendo
y se le ocurre algo espléndido.
Toma del suelo una roca blanca,
pequeña y delgada,
la pone en su cara
y es como si una sonrisa llevara.
That creature walks away happy,
with its incredible new look,
the carrot stands there watching
and comes up with a brilliant idea.
It picks up a white rock from the ground,
small and sharp,
it places it on its face,
and it looks as if it were wearing a smile.
