La rama de apio / The celery stalk

Una rama de apio fresco
estaba aburrido de vivir sin fundamento,
se despide de los otros alimentos
y sale de la cocina sin miedo.

Llega hasta el campo
un lugar tranquilo y mágico,
se ubica al lado
de un tronco grueso y pardo.

A sprig of fresh celery
was tired of living without purpose,
said goodbye to the other foods
and left the kitchen without fear.

It reached the countryside,
a peaceful and magical place,
and settled next to
a thick, brown tree trunk.

Ahí permanece estático
y tras un rato,
llega un árbol
que se hace a su lado.

El sol baja hasta el lugar
y les da sus rayos sin cobrar,
la fotosíntesis se debe completar
las plantas la necesitan para perdurar.

There it remains static
and after a while,
a tree arrives
and stands beside it.

The sun descends to the spot
and gives them its rays free of charge,
photosynthesis must be completed
plants need it to survive.

Cuando el árbol ha recibido los rayos,
se ve del lugar afanado,
sin embargo, el apio,
la fotosíntesis no ha logrado.

El sol siente nostalgia
y se lleva al apio sin decir nada,
lo sube hasta una zona alta
y le da un nuevo hogar entre nubes claras.

When the tree has been struck by lightning,
it is seen from the busy place,
however, the celery,
photosynthesis has not succeeded.

The sun feels nostalgic
and takes the celery away without saying anything,
lifts it up to a high place
and gives it a new home among clear clouds.
