La Nube en el Mar / The Cloud in the Sea
Una nube miraba el mar
y vio un pez naranja pasar,
nadaba con facilidad
y parecía el agua disfrutar.
La nube de esto se antojó
y al agua se lanzó,
pero la pobre se hundió
pesaba mucho y no flotó.
A cloud was looking out at the sea
and saw an orange fish swim by;
it swam with ease
and seemed to be enjoying the water.
The cloud took a fancy to this
and plunged into the water,
but the poor thing sank,
it was too heavy to float.
Llegó hasta el fondo marino
y vio un pequeño amigo,
era un tierno erizo
que se acercó sin motivo.
La nube con ternura lo miró
y sin miedo lo acarició,
pero con una espina se lastimó
y la nube se desinfló.
It reached the ocean floor
and saw a little friend,
it was a cute sea urchin
that swam over for no reason.
The cloud looked at it tenderly
and fearlessly stroked it,
but it got pricked by a spine
and the cloud deflated.
La nube con ansias nadó
y a la superficie rápido llegó,
en una roca se trepó
y el sol de inmediato se acercó.
El gran astro sobre el sopló
y tras un rato la nube se infló,
su cuerpo abullonado recuperó
y de nuevo al cielo regresó.
The cloud swam eagerly
and quickly reached the surface,
climbed onto a rock,
and the sun immediately drew near.
The great star blew on it,
and after a while the cloud swelled,
regained its puffy shape,
and returned to the sky once more.
