La hoja de lechuga azul / The blue lettuce leaf
Una hoja de lechuga se desprendió,
de la gran lechuga que vida le dio,
es qué quería un futuro mejor
y ser ensalada no le daba ilusión
por eso sin miedo se soltó.
Habló con la lechuga mamá,
le dijo que quería salir de este lugar,
ella quería ser algo más,
que una hoja de verde tonalidad
y se iba a buscar su vida ideal.
A lettuce leaf broke away,
from the big lettuce that gave it life,
because it wanted a better future
and being salad didn't excite it,
so without fear it let go.
It spoke to its lettuce mother,
told her it wanted to leave this place,
it wanted to be something more
than a green leaf,
and it was going to seek its ideal life.
La mamá lechuga la entendió
aunque una lágrima derramó,
la hoja por un tiempo se marchó
y un día, cuando amaneció,
aquella hoja regresó.
Ella se veía diferente,
su color ya no era verde,
era una hoja azul celeste
y mamá estaba feliz de verla nuevamente
y con más estudios en su mente.
The lettuce mother understood her,
even though she shed a tear.
The leaf left for a while,
and one day, at dawn,
that leaf returned.
She looked different,
her color was no longer green,
she was a sky blue leaf,
and her mother was happy to see her again,
with more studies on her mind.
La hoja de lechuga salió a buscar,
un vaso de cristal,
caminó un poco de más,
hasta que lo pudo encontrar
y en este se subió con habilidad.
El vaso estaba lleno de hielo
y esta era una hoja con aspecto nuevo,
el azul la hacia parecer un refresco
sintió que estaba en el lugar perfecto
y se quedó a vivir aquí donde halló un nuevo aposento.
The lettuce leaf went out to look for
a glass,
walked a little further,
until it could find it,
and climbed into it with skill.
The glass was full of ice,
and this was a leaf with a new appearance.
The blue made it look like a soft drink.
It felt it was in the perfect place,
and stayed to live here, where it found a new home.
