La Gansa con Hambre /The Hungry Goose

Una gansa hambrienta
se sube a la mesa,
siente el olor de la fruta fresca
y hasta una ensalada se acerca.

Come un trozo de banano,
lo disfruta demasiado
hasta que sale algo enfadado,
es una hoja de Laurel deshidratado.

A hungry goose
climbs onto the table,
smells the fresh fruit,
and even a salad comes within reach.

It eats a piece of banana,
enjoys it immensely,
until something comes out that makes it angry,
it’s a dried bay leaf.

La hoja de Laurel le informa,
que la comida no le sobra,
no puede comerla como loca
y le dice que se vaya de la zona.

La gansa baja la cabeza y se va
hasta su armario donde algo hay,
lo toma y regresa al lugar
con un rayo de luz sin igual.

The bay leaf tells her
that there’s no food left over,
she can’t just eat it like crazy,
and tells her to leave the area.

The goose lowers her head and walks away
to her cupboard where there’s something,
takes it, and returns to the spot
with a ray of light like no other.

A la hoja el rayo de luz le entrega
y está lo recibe sin problema
le dice que con esto pagó la cena
y que puede comer lo que quiera.

La gansa come contenta
hasta que se siente llena,
luego, del lugar se aleja
y la hoja con su rayo feliz se queda.

The ray of light gives it to the leaf,
and the leaf accepts it without a problem.
It tells the leaf that this pays for dinner
and that it can eat whatever it wants.

The goose eats happily
until it feels full,
then it walks away,
and the leaf is left with its happy ray.
