La estrella dentro del pan / The star inside the bread

Me senté para desayunar,
un buen café nunca va mal
tomé el cuchillo para cortar,
en rebanadas un pequeño pan,
que carecia de suavidad.

Lo dividí en dos
y de una mitad, algo brotó,
de entre la masa salió,
era una estrella de claro color,
no sé como a este lugar llegó.

I sat down for breakfast,
a good coffee never goes bad
I took the knife to cut
sliced a small loaf of bread,
which lacked softness.

I divided it in two
and from one half, something sprouted,
out of the dough,
it was a star of clear color,
I don't know how it got to this place.

La estrella dejó el pan y se fue,
caminando, un paso a la vez,
se fue a buscar su hogar,
un cielo de oscura tonalidad
para poder brillar más.

Llegó hasta la ventana,
pensó que ahí todo se observaba,
pero la noche no estaba,
era una estrella extraviada
y que dentro de un pan dormido estaba.

The star left the bread and walked away,
walking, one step at a time,
it went to find its home,
a sky of dark hue
in order to shine brighter.

It reached the window,
he thought that there everything could be observed,
but the night was gone,
it was a lost star
and that it was asleep inside a loaf of bread.

La estrella se bajó de la ventana
y regresó a la mesa dejada,
ahí una taza estaba
y en esta se trepó con maña,
afanada, sin miedo a nada.

Se cayó dentro del café,
que negro, muy negro es,
parece el universo por su color
y ahí brilla sin limitación,
junto a un perro de cerámica qué hay en su interior.

The star climbed down from the window
and returned to the table left behind,
there was a cup
and on it she climbed with dexterity,
eagerly, without fear of anything.

She fell into the coffee,
how black, very black it is,
it looks like the universe for its color
and there it shines without limitation,
next to a ceramic dog what's inside it.

La estrella que vivía en el pan,
encontró un bello lugar,
oscuro, donde puede brillar
y además,
donde puede nadar,
junto a un perro que acompaña sin ladrar.

The star that lived in the bread,
found a beautiful place,
dark, where it can shine
and moreover,
where it can swim,
next to a dog that accompanies without barking.
