La Casa de Papel / The House Made of Paper
De un empaque de huevos,
se asoma un ser bello,
es azul con bigotes inmensos,
un perro sin dueño.
Vivió mucho tiempo en este lugar,
pero entre huevos feliz no está,
con ellos no puede hablar
y por eso del lugar se va.
From a carton of eggs,
a beautiful creature peeks out,
it’s blue with huge whiskers,
a stray dog.
It lived here for a long time,
but it isn’t happy among the eggs;
it can’t talk to them,
and that’s why it leaves.
Llega a un estudio pequeño
dónde hay hojas y lapiceros,
toma una y la dobla sin miedo
y poco a poco algo va construyendo.
Hace una casa de papel,
y en ella se guarda bien,
un nuevo hogar tiene está vez,
aunque está solo también.
He walks into a small studio
where there are sheets of paper and pencils,
picks one up and folds it without hesitation,
and little by little, he begins to build something.
He makes a house out of paper,
and tucks himself safely inside it;
this time he has a new home,
though he is alone there, too.
Al rato llega un gato
y ve al perro en su casa descansando,
va en busca de un amigo cercano
y le muestra lo que ha encontrado.
Es en ese instante que llegó yo
y le doy la mano al perro que encontró,
le digo que le daré un lugar mejor
dónde tenga compañía y mucho amor.
A little while later, a cat arrives
and sees the dog resting at home.
He goes to find a close friend
and shows him what he’s found.
That’s when I arrived,
and I reached out my hand to the dog he’d found.
I told him I’d give him a better place
where he’d have companionship and lots of love.
Me llevo a aquel perro sin hogar,
ahora conmigo solo no estará
mientras el gato hace una manualidad
con el papel que encontró en el lugar.
I'm taking that stray dog home;
now he won't be alone with me
while the cat makes a craft
with the paper he found there
