La abeja honesta / The honest bee

Una abeja está buscando,
comida en mi barrio,
entra a la cocina despacio
y se acerca a la fruta de un plato.

Le parece que huele bien,
se va por un tenedor para comer,
es una abeja refinada y cortés,
y con hambre, por eso quiere comer.

A bee is searching for
food in my neighborhood.
It slowly enters the kitchen
and approaches the fruit on a plate.

It seems to like the smell,
so it goes for a fork to eat.
It is a refined and polite bee,
and it is hungry, so it wants to eat.

Esa ensalada es mi almuerzo
y la cuidaré con esmero,
por eso la tomó de su antena sin miedo,
no le haré daño pero no la quiero dentro.

La pongo en un frasco de plástico,
la liberare en un rato,
ella se escapa de inmediato
y se va caminando rápido.

That salad is my lunch,
and I will take good care of it,
so I took it off your antenna without fear.
I won't hurt you, but I don't want you inside.

I put you in a plastic jar,
and I'll release you in a little while,
you escape immediately
and walk away quickly.

Es una abeja valiente
y por la comida regresa inmediatamente,
se lleva el plato lentamente
tiene hambre y la fruta quiere comerse.

La abeja es un ser honesto
y quiere pagar por el alimento,
deja a cambio un cuadro bien hecho
de una ensalada con frutos diversos.

She is a brave bee
and returns immediately for her food,
she takes the plate slowly,
she is hungry and wants to eat the fruit.

and wants to pay for her food,
she leaves in exchange a well-made painting
of a salad with various fruits.

Ya con este regalo,
con la abeja no me enfado,
pongo este dibujo como cuadro
y en la pared lo dejo colgado.
