Hola amigos de la comunidad Hive Diy, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes, un personaje que he creado desde el amor y la admiración, es una figura que representa al Volcán Galeras. La ciudad de Pasto, está construida en las faldas de un volcán, no me pregunten porque la hicieron ahí, porque no lo sé y aunque podría ser terrorífico, quienes vivimos aquí, amamos este lugar, porque hemos crecido junto a él, apreciando su bello paisaje.

El calentamiento global, ha traído sequías que han puesto en emergencia varias zonas del país, por los incendios forestales, que en su mayoría son causados por el hombre. La semana que pasó, el volcán se vio afectado por un incendio que duró varios días. Hoy podemos celebrar que se extinguió el fuego, pero también murieron muchos animales y plantas, entre estos nuestros queridos frailejones, una especie que toma el agua de la niebla para formar ríos.

Por eso hoy, quise hacer este pequeño homenaje al Volcán Galeras, para que cuidemos nuestra madre tierra y seamos sus más fieles guardianes.

Hello friends of the Hive Diy community, today I want to share with you, a character that I have created from love and admiration, it is a figure that represents the Galeras Volcano. The city of Pasto, is built on the slopes of a volcano, do not ask me why they made it there, because I do not know and although it could be terrifying, those of us who live here, love this place, because we have grown up next to it, appreciating its beautiful landscape.
Global warming has brought droughts that have put several areas of the country in emergency due to forest fires, most of which are caused by man. Last week, the volcano was affected by a fire that lasted several days. Today we can celebrate that the fire was extinguished, but also many animals and plants died, among them our beloved frailejones, a species that takes water from the fog to form rivers.
That is why today, I wanted to make this small tribute to the Galeras Volcano, so that we take care of our mother earth and be her most faithful guardians.

Esta figura es pequeña, del tamaño de mi mano, por lo que no necesité muchos materiales. Pequeños trozos de tela verde, blanca, hilos, tijeras, ojos para muñecos y un pedazo pequeño de alambre. Empecé haciendo la cabeza, la cual lleva tonalidades verdes para la vegetación y blancas para simular la fumarola que sale del volcán. La cabeza va unida a lanparte superior del añambre, todo adherido con hilo y aguja.

This figure is small, about the size of my hand, so I didn't need many materials. Small pieces of green and white fabric, threads, scissors, doll eyes and a small piece of wire. I started by making the head, which has green shades for the vegetation and white to simulate the smoke coming out of the volcano. The head is attached to the upper part of the wire, all attached with thread and needle.

Para el cuerpo del volcán, que en realidad es la montaña, utilicé tela paño lency verde. También coloqué detalles que me parecieron importantes, como les dije, quería hacer un tributo al volcán Galeras y representarlo en esta situación, en esta realidad. Por eso está lleno de símbolos, que lo hacen especial.

For the body of the volcano, which is actually the mountain, I used green lency fabric. I also placed details that I thought were important, as I told you, I wanted to pay homage to the Galeras volcano and represent it in this situation, in this reality. That is why it is full of symbols, which make it special.

Por eso entre los detalles podemos encontrar:

  • Un frailejón florecido al lado izquierdo, como símbolo de resiliencia y fuerza. Los frailejones son plantas que tienen hojas con muchos pelos, los cuales absorben el agua de la niebla y la llevan a la tierra. Esto permite que se formen pequeñas fuentes hídricas desde ma montaña.

  • El fuego a mano derecha, que son los incendios forestales, también se puede distinguir una zona oscura que simboliza el suelo quemado.

  • En la parte baja del lado izquierdo está un pequeño río, esta montaña tiene varios nacimientos de agua, por lo que es importante para todos.

  • En la cabeza lleva su ojos llenos de esperanza y mucha fumarola, que sale directamente del cráter del volcán.

That is why among the details we can find:

  • A flowering frailejon on the left side, as a symbol of resilience and strength. Frailejones are plants that have leaves with many hairs, which absorb water from the fog and carry it to the ground. This allows small water sources to form from the mountain.
  • The fire on the right hand side, which are the forest fires, can also distinguish a dark area that symbolizes the burned ground.
  • On the lower left side is a small river, this mountain has several water springs, so it is important for everyone.
  • On his head he carries his eyes full of hope and a lot of smoke, which comes directly from the crater of the volcano.

Un volcán en llamas va a buscar,

atraviesa praderas sin mirar atrás,

Los invitó a cuidar y a proteger la madre tierra, a conservar las montañas, a evitar quemas controladas que muchas veces se salen de control generando incendios.
