En busca de un caparazón / In search of a shell

Un animal se va arrastrando,
con ojos elevados,
es un gusano claro
o una serpiente de mirar raro.

En realidad es un caracol,
que su coraza perdió,
va caminando con temor,
no tiene que lo proteja del exterior.

An animal crawls along,
with raised eyes,
it's a clear worm
or a strange looking snake.

In reality it is a snail,
that has lost its shell,
it walks in fear,
it has no one to protect it from the outside.

Logra llegar a una casa,
y entra a ver que halla
quizá se quede a vivir en esta morada,
aunque el piso no le agrada.

Este gasteropodo olfatea,
y siente que hay algo en la mesa,
hasta la parte alta trepa
y con un desayuno se encuentra.

He makes it to a house,
and enters to see what he finds
maybe he will stay to live in this dwelling,
although the floor is not to his liking.

This gastropod sniffs,
and senses that there is something on the table,
it climbs up to the top
and finds a breakfast.

Prueba la fruta partida
y le parece que está muy rica,
toma café, una oscura bebida
y queda complacida.

Se acerca a un pan dorado
y le parece que es adecuado,
para llevar en su dorso desocupado
y lo pone bien sujetado.

He tastes the broken fruit
and finds it very tasty,
she drinks coffee, an obscure beverage
and is pleased.

She approaches a golden bread
and finds it suitable,
to carry on its unoccupied backside
and puts it securely fastened.

Aquel caracol sin casa,
encontró una de masa blanda,
un pan ahora lo acompaña
y de un color que encanta.

El animal regresa al campo sin temor,
ya no es un gusano sin color,
es un hermoso caracol
con un pan como caparazón.

That snail without a home,
found one of soft dough,
a bread now accompanies it
and of a color that enchants.

The animal returns to the field without fear,
it is no longer a worm without color,
it is a beautiful snail
with a bread as a shell.
