El perro contento / The happy dog
Una zanahoria caminaba
como todas las mañanas
y vio algo qué no esperaba,
entre una pequeña montaña.
Era un perro pequeño,
de pelo blanco y negro,
la verdura lo toma sin miedo
y lo lleva a su aposento.
A carrot was walking
like every morning
and saw something unexpected,
amongst a small mountain.
It was a small dog,
with black and white fur,
the vegetable picks it up without fear
and takes it to its room.
Entre los bananos lo deja
y el perro todo olfatea,
le gusta esta nueva vivienda
y entre las frutas feliz se queda.
Tras un rato llega la Luna
quiere llevarse al perro con premura,
el canino se esconde con angustia
esperando que alguien venga en su ayuda.
He leaves it among the bananas,
and the dog sniffs everything,
he likes this new home,
and happily stays among the fruit.
After a while, the Moon arrives,
wanting to take the dog away quickly,
the dog hides in distress,
waiting for someone to come to his aid.
La zanahoria toma al perro
y la Luna le dice que es su compañero,
pero que le aburre el universo,
por eso huye, buscando un hogar nuevo.
La Luna reconoce que el perro está contento
en su nuevo aposento,
se va triste, pero contento
al saber que el perro ahora está en un lugar bello.
The carrot takes the dog,
and the Moon tells him that he is his companion,
but that the universe bores him,
so he runs away, looking for a new home.
The Moon recognizes that the dog is happy
in his new home,
and leaves sad, but content,
knowing that the dog is now in a beautiful place.
