El pastel que horneó la abeja / The cake the bee baked

Una abeja trabajadora,
horneó una torta de zanahoria,
espectacular era su aroma
y la dejó sobre la mesa sola
para que se enfriará por una hora.

La abeja se fue del lugar
y en su ausencia pasó algo singular,
la torta salió del plato con afán,
se lanzó de la mesa sin pensar
y se escondió para que no la pudieran hallar.

A worker bee
baked a carrot cake,
its aroma was spectacular,
and she left it alone on the table
to cool for an hour.

The bee left the room,
and while she was gone, something strange happened,
the cake eagerly jumped off the plate,
plunged off the table without a second thought,
and hid so no one could find it.

Cuando la abeja volvió,
la torta no encontró,
no entiende lo que pasó,
si sobre la mesa la dejó
sin relleno de ningún sabor.

Tanta angustia vivió la abeja
que se desmayó de repentina manera,
cayó al suelo, perdió la conciencia
y la torta fue a socorrerla,
para que bien se sintiera.

When the bee returned,
she couldn’t find the cake,
she didn’t understand what had happened,
since she had left it on the table
with no filling at all.

The bee was so distressed
that she suddenly fainted,
fell to the floor, lost consciousness,
and the cake went to help her,
so she would feel better.

La abeja del piso se levantó
pero antes la torta tomó,
encontrarla la emocionó
y sobre la mesa la dejó
en el plato que la horneó.

El insecto después va,
por una fruta para merendar,
lo que horneó no podra devorar,
tiene sentimientos, no la va a lastimar
y la torta sonríe por el amor que le da.

The bee on the floor got up,
but first she took the cake,
finding it made her happy,
and she left it on the table
on the plate she’d baked it on.

The insect then goes
to find some fruit for a snack,
she won’t be able to eat what she baked,
she has feelings,she won’t hurt it,
and the cake smiles at the love she gives it.
