El mugre bien vestido / The well-dressed dirt
Clemencia está barriendo la ciudad,
de un lado a otro va
y cuando regresa de todo limpiar,
trae entre la escoba mucha suciedad,
que ahí deja para en una bolsa guardar.
La mugre que debería estar quieta
comienza a moverse sin cautela,
esto a Clemencia le aterra
y sobre una banca se trepa,
para evitar que la mugre la agreda.
Clemencia is sweeping the city,
going from one side to the other,
and when she returns from cleaning everything,
she brings a lot of dirt with her broom,
which she leaves there to put in a bag.
The dirt that should be still
begins to move without caution,
which terrifies Clemencia,
and she climbs onto a bench
to prevent the dirt from attacking her.
Clemencia se da cuenta,

Clemencia realizes
that the dirt is not violent.
She approaches cautiously,
takes her by the hand, and leads her
to her house nearby.
She sits her down on the sofa
and then goes to get a white coat.
When the dirt sees this, she becomes even more frightened
and hides eagerly under the chair,
while Clemencia tells her that nothing bad will happen.
Clemencia se pone el abrigo blanco
para mostrarle que no hace daño,
la mugre sale despacio
y se deja vestir con agrado
con aquel suéter claro sofisticado.
La mugre agradece y se va
a recorrer la ciudad,
ahora no es solo suciedad,
es mugre que acicalado está

Clemencia puts on her white coat
to show him that it doesn't hurt,
the grime slowly comes off
and lets himself be dressed with pleasure
in that sophisticated light-colored sweater.
The grime thanks her and leaves
to explore the city,
now he's not just dirt,
he's grime that's been spruced up,
dressed in a unique outfit.
