El gran regalo / The great gift

Me han dejado un regalo,
no he querido explorarlo,
lo dejé en el suelo por un rato,
esperando a que surja algo,
quizás un perro o un árbol.

Pasa el tiempo
y el paquete permanece quieto,
al parecer no trae nada bueno,
hasta que comienza el movimiento
y me entusiasmo con el obsequió.

I have been left a gift,
I didn't want to explore it,
I left it on the floor for a while,
waiting for something to come up,
maybe a dog or a tree.
Time goes by
and the package remains still,
apparently not bringing anything good,
until the movement begins
and I get excited about the gift.

Sale un trozo de papel
y me sonríe cuando me ve,
su cuerpo deja salir también,
es largo y feo se ve.

lo quiero conocer,

A piece of paper comes out
and smiles at me when he sees me,

y todo cambia en un lapso,
me convierto en un ser claro,

I become a clear being,
I am made of paper.
That's how a gift changes me,
I'm still me, but with more grace,
I wear a clear complexion
while my smile remains intact.
