El Ciclista que Engañó al Perro / The Cyclist Who Tricked the Dog
Un perro estaba contento
mirando todo con detenimiento,
lo acompañaba un burro quieto
hasta que apareció un ciclista necio,
que se cae al suelo.
El perro se alarma con la situación
y va a ver qué pasó,
levanta al ciclista con dedicación
y sobre la banca lo pone con aflicción,
esperando que se ponga mejor.
A dog was happily
looking at everything closely,
accompanied by a still donkey,
until a reckless cyclist appeared
and fell to the ground.
The dog was alarmed by the situation
and went to see what had happened,
he helped the cyclist up with care
and sat him down on the bench with concern,
hoping he would get better.
Pero el ciclista no reacciona
el perro le da respiración boca a boca,
le hace una reanimación asombrosa
y cuando respira de frágil forma,
el perro va en busca de una pócima.
En su ausencia el ciclista despierta
y se levanta de mágica manera,
toma el burro que dejó cerca
y se marcha sin clemencia,
robando el animal, que del perro era.
But the cyclist doesn’t react,
the dog gives him mouth-to,mouth resuscitation,
performs an amazing rescue,
and when he begins to breathe weakly,
the dog goes in search of a potion.
While the dog is gone, the cyclist wakes up
and gets up as if by magic,
grabs the donkey he’d left nearby,
and rides off without mercy,
stealing the animal, which belonged to the dog.
Cuando el canino regresa contento
con las medicinas para el enfermo,
lo ve recuperado y huyendo,
en el burro que dejó por un momento
cómo si nunca hubiera estado indispuesto.
El perro se sienta con nostalgia,
lo engañaron sin causa
pero las buenos actos se pagan
y al rato alguien en un auto nuevo pasa
y se lo lleva a pasear sin cobrarle nada.
When the dog returns happily
with the medicine for the sick man,
he finds him recovered and running away,
riding the donkey he had left behind for a moment,
as if he had never been ill.
The dog sits there feeling wistful,
he was tricked for no reason,
but good deeds are rewarded,
and soon someone in a new car drives by
and takes him for a ride without charging him a thing.
El perro recibió una recompensa,
porque actuó de correcta manera,
el ciclista tras un rato aparece en escena
y de nuevo toma su bicicleta
el burro lo dejó,es que su dueño no era.
The dog received a reward,
because he did the right thing,
after a while, the cyclist appears on the scene
and picks up his bike again,
the donkey had left it there because it wasn't his owner's.
