El amigo de la corredora / The runner's friend

Esta chica corre sin freno,
hasta que frente a ella pasa un perro,
es viejo, por eso va lento
y la corredora debe detenerse por un momento.

Empieza el afán,
revisa el reloj y debe empezar ya,
ella tiene tiempos para descansar
pero no es ahora y debe avanzar.

This girl runs without stopping,
until a dog passes in front of her,
it's old, that's why it's going slow
and the runner has to stop for a moment.

The eagerness begins,
she checks the clock and must start now,
she has time to rest
but it's not now and she must move forward.

Ella tiene afán,
su cuerpo ritmo perderá,
empieza al canino a apresurar,
hace señas para que se mueva del lugar.

El perro piensa que lo está llamando
y se lanza a darle lambetazos,
los dos sonríen por un rato
y el corredor decide descansar un rato.

She has eagerness,
her body pace will lose,
starts the canine to hurry,
she beckons him to move from the spot.

The dog thinks she's calling him
and starts to lick him,
they both smile for a while
and the jogger decides to rest for a while

Cuando el canino se va,
el corredor vuelve a trotar
y cuando mira atrás,
decide que al perro se quiere llevar.

Lo carga con cuidado,
aunque es bastante pesado,
es un trabajo de fuerza y cardio,
que vale la pena por ir acompañado.

When the canine leaves,
the runner starts trotting again
and when he looks back
decides he wants to take the dog with him.

He carries it in his arms,
even though it is quite heavy,
it's a work of strength and cardio,
but it's worth it for the company.

Y quien podría pensar,
que la atleta hallaría un amigo real,
recorriendo calles con afán,
para una carrera ganar.

Pero, así sucedió,
un día un perro viejo encontró,
los dos pasean sin restricción
son los mejores amigos que la vida junto.

And who would have thought,
that the athlete would find a real friend,
running through the streets with eagerness,
for a race to win.

But, so it happened,
one day an old dog found,
the two walk without restraint
they are the best friends that life put together.
