Amor para la zanahoria / Love for Carrots

Tengo mucho amor por el pan,
es blando y su sabor es fenomenal,
este es de mantequilla sin sal
y yo aseguro que mi amor es real.

Cuando me voy, aparece tras la taza,
una zanahoria bien naranja,
camina hasta donde el pan descansa
y frente a este plato se para.

I have a deep love for bread,
it’s soft and tastes amazing,
this one’s made with unsalted butter,
and I promise my love is real.

When I leave, it appears behind the cup,
a bright orange carrot,
it walks over to where the bread lies
and stands right in front of the plate.

La zanahoria lo observa,
luego lo toma con cautela
y aunque el pan mucho pesa,
poco a poco se lo lleva.

Lo esconde tras la taza
y luego regresa al plato dónde estaba
en este se sienta angustiada
y espera a que alguien caso le haga.

The carrot watches it,
then picks it up cautiously,
and even though the bread is heavy,
it carries it away little by little.

It hides it behind the cup
and then returns to the plate where it was,
there it sits, anxious,
and waits for someone to pay it any mind.

Cuando llegó al lugar,
en el plato el pan ya no está,
lo que sí hay,
es una zanahoria de bella tonalidad.

También le doy mi corazón
es una hortaliza que merece amor
ella se alejó, tras la taza se guardó
iba contenta porque cariño recibió.

When she arrived,
the bread was gone from the plate,
but what was there
was a beautifully colored carrot.

I also give her my heart,
it’s a vegetable that deserves love,
she walked away, hiding behind the cup
she was happy because she had received affection.

Y es que las frutas y los vegetales,
son alimentos agradables
tienen vitaminas, minerales
y deben valorarse.

The fact is, fruits and vegetables
are delicious foods
that contain vitamins and minerals
and should be valued.
