When roadworks take you on an unusual journey

Although I live in a village, we are looking to spend a week in the forest in the fresh air. The closest and best place for us is the Fruška Gora National Park.
We set off to the National Park on the usual route, but roadworks were in our way.
Although we looked at the road conditions, there was nothing.
Maybe the notifications arrived late, were not updated on time or for some reason.
Mostly, the road showed us to go the other way.
We were passing by the road at the foot of the Petrovaradin Fortress.
And we found a place to take a break and stop.
To check the navigation and see where we were going.
And it turned out that this place along the way is beautiful with nature, the Danube and the fortress .And a nice view of Novi Sad, which is across the Danube.
So we took a little longer break to enjoy the view.

We also found a small garden with a water pool here
As the information board says, it is part of a project designed to store excess rainwater in urban areas
I would say both beautiful and useful
The fence is in the shape of a heart, probably maintained by volunteers or maybe the city green
We didn't want to touch anything, we just enjoyed it
And next to the small garden is the Ship Exhibit
As far as I understood the information board, it's part of the Yoko Ono project related to the Exit festival
The musical Exit Festival is held every year at the Petrovaradin Fortress
With the exception of this year
It was postponed due to the tragedy that happened at the Novi Sad Railway Station

From this place, you can also see the pillars protruding from the water of the former old bridge.This bridge, which was modern at the time, was named after Emperor Francis Joseph. It was designed by Karl Baumann, who also designed the tunnel under the Fortress in 1883.Unfortunately, it was demolished by both the Yugoslav People's Army and Germany in World War II.Only these pillars remain of it.

After an unplanned long break, we continued into the forest
But we enjoyed it here too
