Uncle's roses
A few days ago I was at my uncle's house and took pictures of his rose garden. He lives in a neighboring town 5 km from me.
I inherited my love for roses from him, probably genetics.
Although I think my aunt takes more care of the roses than he does.Because there are other flowers in the garden besides roses. Uncle calls them weeds. He says only tulips can pass as flowers, he jokes.

Although he also likes to "beautify" the yard, he made these pots from pepper tiles, drilling and connecting the tiles to form a bottomless pot.He hid the wire with which he connected the tiles inside, so that the earth covered it.He drilled the holes for the wire at angles, intentionally so that only the roof tile would be visible from the outside.

Since he spent part of his life in construction, he used what he learned and glued broken and cut pepper tiles to the house. He made a palm tree out of pepper tiles, and his grandson helped him and made the letter D, the first letter of his name.
My aunt says that they sang a "folk" song, "I'm naughty and my grandfather, where are we going, the world is watching us" ( Ja vragolan i moj deda, kud krenemo svet nas gleda...)

This tile under the palm tree is supposed to imitate sand, hills. I didn't ask him. I told him he should have added a few more palm trees. He replied that one was enough for him for shade :)
It's true that it's a bit of a hassle to glue the pieces together and fit them together almost like a mosaic

Since my wife loves Clematis and doesn't have any, she noticed this creeper and immediately asked my aunt for a shoot.

Thanks for reading.
Until next time.
Stay healthy.
