Stražilovo (guard, or guard's)

One of the most beautiful and most visited picnic spots of the National Park Fruska Gora, Strazilovo, is 16 km from Novi Sad and 4 km from Sremski Karlovac, Vojvodina, Serbia
Stražilovo is not just an ordinary peak in Fruška. Stražilovo is the most famous elevation of Serbian poetry. It became so because of the famous Serbian romantic poet, Branko Radičević (1824-1853).

In his verses, he says: "I'm walking, the company is with me, we're going to Stražilovo it"
U svojim stihovima on kaže: “Ja se šetam, družina sa mnome, mi idemo Stražilovu tome”.

At the foot, next to the Stražilovački (Ešikovački) stream, there is his monument. On this sculpture, the poet is shown with a lyre in his hand. It is the work of sculptor Jovan Soldatović.
I added a little history to describe this picnic spot.
The nature is beautiful in the national park and the way to the top is a nice adventure.
The climb is not difficult, so even small children can walk to the top.
And all this is not far from the Danube River, which connects the whole of Central Europe.
