Spring has arrived but ...
Before I wrote the April Journal , I was a little absent . To avoid writing here again , I will just say that I forgot to pay my Internet bill for January . You can read more about it here: Internet off
The greenhouse is progressing well, but the heater is still running at night, sometimes, as needed.

This brown you see on the soil and leaves is cinnamon. My wife uses cinnamon to fight the peat fly or mushroom fly (Sciaridae)
We planned to continue sowing the garden.
But this week they are reporting low night temperatures and possible frost.
Since we follow the Julian calendar this year, our Easter is a week later than the Gregorian calendar.
There are holidays and non-working days on the weekend.
So we postponed the sowing of the garden until next week when the night temperatures are reported to be at least ten degrees Celsius.
What caught my attention and grows like a real treasure in our yard. It is dandelion, white dock (Bellis perennis), dock (Rumex patientia) and slowly emerging chamomile.

They are all edible or medicinal plants but forgotten. I just don't know why or by whom. The other day I was making a salad of dandelion leaves and dead nettle leaves with the addition of a grated apple slice and lemon juice.A vitamin bomb in just a few ingredients. The apple is just there as an addition to give it a sweet taste so that my small but picky son will eat it too.
The front garden is progressing nicely, the houseplant has really spread. And the carnation has recovered after last year's destruction by the chickens.

And an addition to our yard are chickens. There aren't many of them yet, but we expect to see some little chicks by the middle of the month.

I had to prune this black elderberry (Sambucus nigra) in the chicken coop a little more, it was giving us too much shade because we have blackberries up to the wire. But since it grows like a wild plant, I don't think it will bother her.I'll leave the fight against this year's frost for another post.
Thanks for reading.
Until next time.
Stay healthy.
