November frost

Rain, fog, sleet, and frosts have begun.
End of November, I still haven't had time to plant anything in the garden.
The soil is too wet, sticky, and not suitable for cultivation, especially in the garden.I am waiting for more favorable conditions for planting in the garden.
While I was planting new raspberries, I found some fruit on the old ones. My son was delighted because he loves raspberries.
I added new raspberries on this side of the yard, right next to the fence.

Since the conditions are not suitable for a garden, next to the raspberries I planted young fig trees that I had taken out next to an older fig tree.

Figs do not like frost, so we use the protection of a wall, building or larger tree. In order for it to thrive and bear fruit in our region,
And these two planted fig trees that I have are located not far from the wall.

Since I cut the very tops of the shoots, I placed them in gravel. Although it might be better to root them in sand. We'll see in the spring how that experiment went.

20251123_105021.jpgI used organic fertilizer granules for planting. And homemade, already semi-decomposed manure. As for homemade manure, you have to chop it and sift it or crush it with your hands. And comb it well and remove these little worms. They are good for breaking down manure and wood mass, but they are not really good for adding to the roots of young plants.20251123_110900.jpgI planted another persimmon tree, since I'm not sure if the first one will survive. It had a hard time withstanding the dry season. And we all love persimmons in the house. But seedlings are not exactly cheap for our conditions. But one by one and it will be20251121_105442.jpg

The ground in the yard is also damp, heavy, sticky, but I somehow managed to deal with it. In the orchard there is peace, the leaves have fallen and the moles are making highways.

But when I finished planting raspberries, figs and persimmons . The work is not over . They announced frost and temperatures of 3-4 degrees below zero .
So I had to protect this new fruit from frost. The agrotextile I had was ruined. So I used several methods to protect the fruit. And a combination of some. With what I have, hay, I recycle old water balloons in a new way.And I also protected old raspberry and currant seedlings this way, even a few strawberries that were nearby.

20251123_123537.jpgAnd of course the new persimmon tree got special treatment.20251123_123644.jpg

And that morning came, Cold and frosty. With a garden in the first step and all the way to the yard.
