Myllysaari

I went on a short photowalk to Myllysaari, a chain of small islands jutting into Lake Vesijärvi today.

There are three islands. The first one has a small park on it, the second is a very small one and the third, Myllysaari, has a boat club, and a restaurant on it as well as a small boat harbor.

Those bridges can be driven on by car just barely.

This is the restaurant.

A storage building owned by the boat club, I guess.

It was about 15 C but quite windy.

Beautiful shots! The first one especially has a well defined leading line. Very good.

Thank you! I shoot dozens of shots every day. I consciously pay attention to things like that.

Like here:

In this composition, we have:

A) The main subject placed addording to the "rule of thirds".

B) A leading like from the corner to the main subject.

C) The image has three layers to it:

  • the grass is the foreground

  • the main subject and the platform are the middle ground

  • he shoreline is the background.

D) The raindrops on the water form an interesting pattern.

I have always liked bridges for photography in the middle of the forest or by the lake, and I unconsciously go towards them for photography.
