A Walk On A Cold Afternoon

I went out for a walk around 2 pm. It was about -8 C out there. My wife insisted that I wear a warm coat. I did and it turned out I had correctly predicted it was going to be hot because I would walk briskly.

Despite it being warm and above freezing this week for many days, there was still plenty of snow.

That's quite some snow. The water's still flowing? Thought they should be frozen too

Flowing waters will freeze at much lower temperatures than still water. If the water molecules are constantly moving, it's hard for the ice crystals to form. They do eventually.
