Empathy with the sweet wait || Empatía con la dulce espera

Cordial greetings, Lifescape Tribe members, participating for the first time in this community and in unison, joining the fun with the color of the week contest: Brown, organized by @suteru.

The color brown, with its wide and spacious versatility, manifested in the multiplicity of tones and shades, brings us a diversity of options, representing a friendly, accommodating, and plural range, which we can comfortably find in our daily lives. However, personally, to think of the color brown is to incite my senses, with sensations linked to mother earth and all that she represents as a life-giving ecosystem.

El color marrón, con su dilatada y espaciosa versatilidad, manifestada en la multiplicidad de tonos y matices, nos aporta diversidad de opciones, representando una gama amigable, complaciente y plural, que podemos encontrar cómodamente en nuestra cotidianeidad. Sin embargo, en lo personal, pensar en el color marrón, es incitar mis sentidos, con sensaciones mancomunadas a la Madre, Tierra y todo lo que ella representa como ecosistema dador de vida.

So, keeping this color in mind, I got ready to investigate, scrutinize, and inquire to support my contribution. I located objects and furnishings, linked, however, I could not decide on one in particular. But the surprise was about to manifest itself, and one day, when I returned from work at approximately 2 pm, I observed in a vacant lot in my community, an attractive brown color, and with it different visages. But what attracted my attention the most was that it was stamped on a graceful pregnant sheep.

Así que, con este color en mente, me alisté a indagar, escudriñar e inquirir, para dar sustento a mi contribución. Localicé enseres y objetos coligados; sin embargo, no pude decidirme por uno en concreto. Pero la sorpresa estaba a punto de manifestarse y un día, al regresar de mi trabajo, aproximadamente a las 2 de la tarde, observé en un terreno baldío de mi comunidad, un atractivo color marrón y con él diferentes visajes. Pero lo que más atrajo mi atención es que estaba estampado en una agraciada oveja gestante.

I stopped stealthily and at a certain distance, enraptured and dazzled by her distinguished forms, all very well defined, although some were chubby due to her pregnancy, but what most graced the moment was the placidity and enjoyment with which she savored her pasture, regardless of the passionate and burning sun. Her brownish and coppery tones sparkled with unbridled sparkle.

Me detuve con sigilo y a cierta distancia, embelesada y deslumbrada por sus distinguidas formas, todas muy bien definidas, aunque algunas estaban rechonchas, producto de su preñez, pero lo que más engalanaba el momento, era la placidez y disfrute, con la que saboreaba su pasto, sin importarle el apasionado y ardiente sol. Sus tonos castaños y cobrizos, chispeaban descomedidos.

The sheep was tied to a long string, which made it easy to move around. I deduced that it was for protection, being in an area not suitable for it, and highly trafficked. However, in spite of this, it transmitted serenity and calmness. She did not bleat either, just enjoyed her food with pleasure and parsimony.

As I watched her, my insecurity emerged and expressed itself; I was afraid of interrupting and disturbing her peace. My experience photographing animals has not been recognized, and I find it difficult to handle the uncertainty and unexpected behavior characteristic of animals. In addition to her pregnancy, her hormones were reeling, making her more susceptible and sensitive.

La oveja estaba atada a un largo cordel, lo que facilitaba ampliamente su desplazamiento. Deduje que era por protección, al estar en una zona no adecuada para ella y altamente transitada. No obstante, a pesar de ello, transmitía serenidad y calma. Tampoco balaba, simplemente disfrutaba de su alimento con regodeo y parsimonia.

Mientras la observaba, mi inseguridad afloraba y se expresaba, temía interrumpirla y perturbar su paz. Mi experiencia fotografiando animales no ha sido objeto de reconocimiento, se me dificulta manejar la incertidumbre y el comportamiento inesperado característico de los animales. Se adicionaba su gestación, por lo que sus hormonas tambaleaban, haciéndola más susceptible y sensible.

Little by little, I got closer, until the gallant sheep identified my presence, far from getting upset, an empathy flowed between both, a prodigious and magical connection. She adopted different postures as she pleased, almost always with her gaze fixed on me; it was she who facilitated the process with her protagonism.

Poco a poco me fui acercando, hasta que la galante oveja identificó mi presencia, lejos de alterarse, fluyó entre ambas una empatía sublime, una conexión prodigiosa y mágica. Adoptó con desparpajo y a su antojo diferentes posturas, casi siempre con la mirada fija en mí, era ella la que facilitaba el proceso con su protagonismo.

I gladly took advantage of her profligacy and, after a while, she looked around for a place to lie down. She found it and threw herself down to rest. I photographed her with several shots in the languor of the stillness and said goodbye. I returned a few hours later, but it was gone. Talking to a neighbor, he notified me that she had been transferred for veterinary control and that she was already in her earthly space of origin.

Me aproveché con complacencia de su despilfarro y, transcurrido un tiempo, dirigió su mirada en recorrido y reconocimiento buscando a su alrededor un lugar donde tumbarse. Al encontrarlo se arrojó al descanso. La fotografié con varias tomas en la languidez de la quietud y me despedí. Volví unas horas más tarde, pero ya no estaba. Dialogando con un vecino, me notificó que había sido trasladada para control veterinario y que ya se encontraba en su espacio terrenal de origen.
