"THE TEACHER..." My #134 entry to the #Monomad challenge.
Existen palabras que cuesta olvidar... Una de ellas me la dijo el primer profesor de fotografía que tuve. Recuerdo que estaba en fila detrás de algunos chicos esperando mi turno, muy emocionada con mi camara semi-profesional para que él (el fotógrafo y profesor) me enseñara a usarla en el modo manual. Pues yo solo conocía el modo automático.
Cuando llegó mi turno y le muestro mi cámara, el la reviso con unos gestos algo despectivos y sin siquiera verme a la cara me dijo, "Esto no sirve. Guardala para que las lleves a tus vacaciones, pero con esto no llegarás lejos como fotógrafa." Y siguió enseñando al resto de los chicos, mientras yo sólo veía de lejos.
El nudo que sentí en mi garganta me paralizó a tal punto que llegué a mi casa muda... Sin emitir palabra alguna por todo el camino y al tirarme en la cama, lloré como un niño desconsolado.
Pasé días sin querer nombrar siquiera la palabra fotografía, sentía hasta vergüenza. Gracias a mis queridos amigos y su ánimo pude dejar la tristeza de lado y continuar con mi meta, aunque cada vez que veo la cámara... 🥺 No puedo olvidar esas palabras.
Casi 2 años han transcurrido de eso, y las siguientes clases teóricas que inicié lo arranqué vía online, con un profesor que he nombrado antiguamente por aquí, el profe Inda Un Fotógrafo cubano Genial!
Su método para enseñar es tan diferente, tan edificante! Tan motivador! En la última charla que nos dió, habló de las cámaras... Mencionó Que realmente no es una cámara quien hace a un buen fotógrafo, pues existen personas que sin una cámara profesional han logrado capturas impresionantes, mientras que otros con los mejores equipos no logran siquiera transmitir una emoción.
También habló de la luz, en especial de la natural... Me alegré tanto cuando oí este tema... ¿Saben algo? Les confieso que aunque sea de poquito a poquito que me voy nutriendo en conocimiento en cuanto a la fotografía, eso me hace exageradamente feliz. Sé que no estoy a la altura de grandes fotógrafos que hacen vida en esta comunidad, nisiquiera cuento con los equipos anhelados para hacer un excelente trabajo como el que me gustaría, pero siento el amor y la pasión necesaria por lo que hago. Y con eso es suficiente... Este profe merece un premio, él ni sabrá todo el bien que hace en aquellos que lo escuchamos semana a semana...
Hoy les comparto mi entrada #134 al desafío #Monomad. Esta vez quise cambiar de espacio, probar nuevos ángulos, texturas... Y colores.
Siento que pude haberlo hecho mejor... Pero no voy a descansar hasta conseguirlo 📸🙌.

There are words that are hard to forget... One of them was said to me by the first photography teacher I ever had. I remember I was standing in line behind some guys waiting for my turn, very excited with my semi-professional camera for him (the photographer and teacher) to teach me how to use it in manual mode. I only knew the automatic mode.
When it was my turn and I showed him my camera, he looked at it with a rather dismissive gesture and without even looking at my face he said, "This is no good. Keep it so you can take them on your vacations, but with this you won't get far as a photographer." And he continued to show the rest of the guys, while I just watched from afar.
The lump I felt in my throat paralyzed me to the point that I arrived home mute.... Without uttering a word the whole way and as I threw myself on the bed, I cried like a disconsolate child.
I spent days without even wanting to mention the word "photograph", I felt ashamed. Thanks to my dear friends and their encouragement I was able to put the sadness aside and continue with my goal, although every time I look at the camera.... 🥺 I can't forget those words.
Almost 2 years have passed since that, and the next theory classes I started I started it via online, with a teacher that I have named formerly around here, Prof. Inda A Great Cuban Photographer!
His method of teaching is so different, so uplifting! So motivating! In the last talk he gave us, he talked about cameras.... He mentioned that it's not really a camera that makes a good photographer, because there are people who without a professional camera have achieved impressive captures, while others with the best equipment don't even manage to transmit an emotion.
He also talked about light, especially natural light? I was so happy when I heard about this topic.... Do you know something? I confess that even if it's just a little by little that I'm nurturing my knowledge about photography, it makes me extremely happy. I know I'm not at the level of great photographers that make life in this community, I don't even have the desired equipment to do an excellent job as I would like, but I feel the love and passion for what I do. And that's enough... This teacher deserves an award, he won't even know all the good he does for those of us who listen to him week after week...
Today I share with you my #134 entry to the #Monomad challenge. This time I wanted to change space, try new angles, textures.... And colors.
I feel like I could have done better... But I'm not going to rest until I get it 📸🙌.

Buen trabajo. Me parece un procesado a b&n genial. También la composición está muy cuidada. En general es un trabajo excelente, pero... para ser sincero, muy sincero. El suavizado de la piel me parece totalmente antinatural, y siendo diplomático, hasta me resulta feo.
El de la piel es un tema complicado en retrato, pero si tiendes más a lo natural, los resultados suelen tener más fuerza y coherencia.
