Jurassic trails, barbecue, Chełm Mountain and a shop

I definitely consider our return trip to the Jura last week a success. The first reason was the perfect weather; it wasn't too hot.

Nasz ponowny zeszłotygodniowy wyjazd na Jurę zdecydowanie zaliczam do udanych. Pierwszym powodem była idealna pogoda, nie było zbyt gorąco.

Unfortunately, our first trip coincided with the first heatwave, with temperatures approaching 40 degrees Celsius in the shade. This time, it was optimal.

Niestety nasz pierwszy wyjazd zbiegł się z pierwszą falą upałów, gdzie w cieniu było blisko 40 stopni. Tym razem było optymalnie.

Unfortunately, our favorite pastime, mushroom picking, was severely limited, as only edible chanterelles were available, and in limited quantities at that. There was barely enough for two scrambled eggs—but they were good, too.

Niestety nasze ulubione zajęcie, czyli zbieranie grzybów było mocno ograniczone, bo występowały jedynie pieprzniki jadalne i to ograniczonej ilości. Wystarczyło raptem na dwie jajecznice - ale dobre i to.

When there are no mushrooms, there's always something else. There were plenty of strawberries and blueberries, but that wasn't the only reason to go to the forest. Just walking through a peaceful forest is a great way to spend your free time.

Jak nie ma grzybów, to zawsz jest coś innego. Było sporo poziomek i jagód, ale to nie był jedyny powód do wyjścia do lasu. Bo samo chodzenie po spokojnym lesie jest doskonałym spędzaniem wolnego czasu.

We also visited Chełm Mountain, which we always climb when we're in the village of Hutki-Kanki. Time passes differently there, and the atmosphere is more reminiscent of an Asian jungle than a Polish forest.

Nie ominęliśmy również Góry Chełm, na którą wchodzimy zawsze, kiedy jesteśmy we wsi Hutki-Kanki. Tam czas płynie inaczej, a klimat przypomina bardziej azjatycką dżunglę niż polskie lasy.

Of course, a must-have during your trip is the barbecue, which later transforms into a small campfire. We don't use any charcoal or briquettes, just pine needles, pine cones, and tree branches. All natural fuel ingredients add a unique flavor and aroma to grilled dishes.

Oczywiście obowiązkowym punktem podczas wyjazdu jest grill, zmieniający się później w małe ognisko. Nie stosujemy żadnego węgla drzewnego ani brykietu, tylko igły sosnowe, szyszki i gałęzie drzew. Same naturalne składniki opałowe, które dodają grillowanym potrawom niezwykłego smaku i aromatu.

And another integration point on the trip list is the local shop, where you can chat with friends and locals over a beer, which sometimes extends into the evening.

No i kolejny na liście wycieczkowej punkt integracyjny, to miejscowy sklepik, w którym przy piwku można pogawędzić ze znajomymi i miejscowymi, co czasami przeciąga się do godzin wieczornych.
