🇫🇷 Je me lance dans le récit de quelques escales. Je ne vais pas les faire dans l'ordre chronologique, juste par envie des histoires pour dépoussiérer quelques vieux souvenirs. Voilà une banalité qui fera sourire le non-initié et qui fera acquiescer le marin, la mer ça bouge. Oui! Et même habitué à cela durant des années, le marin adore parfois sentir que rien ne bouge. Le calme plat, pas la moindre onde venant faire rouler la coque du voilier. Pour cela, les rivières sont parfaites. Sortir parfois de la mer et entrer dans une rivière, ou plus exactement un fleuve, c'est entrer dans une zone de repos que le marin ne pourra qu'apprécier. Ce fut mon cas en quittant Sandakan à Bornéo et en faisant route vers le sud. L'entrée de plusieurs cours d'eau s'offre alors au navigateur et c'est celle de la Kinabatangan River que j'ai choisie. Plusieurs raisons m'ont fait choisir cette option. Parmi elles, l'observation de la vie sauvage, avifaune et singes, l'option de pouvoir observer les éléphants en bord de rivière, et puis le dessin infini du cours d'eau permettant de pénétrer de plusieurs dizaines de kilomètres à l'intérieur de Bornéo.	🇬🇧 I’m embarking on the story of a few stopovers. I won’t do them in order, just out of desire and to dust off some old memories. Here is a banality that will make the uninitiated smile and that will make the sailor nod, the sea it moves. Yes! And even accustomed to this for years, the sailor sometimes loves to feel that nothing moves. The flat calm, not the slightest wave coming to roll the hull of the sailboat. For that, the rivers are perfect. Sometimes coming out of the sea and entering a river, or more exactly a river, is to enter a rest area that the sailor will only be able to appreciate. This was my case when leaving Sandakan in Borneo and heading south. The entry of several rivers is then offered to the navigator and it is that of the Kinabatangan River that I chose. Several reasons made me choose this option. Among them, the observation of wildlife, avifauna and monkeys, the option to be able to observe the elephants by the river, and then the infinite drawing of the stream allowing to penetrate several tens of kilometers inside Borneo.

🇫🇷 Dès l'entrée dans le fleuve, le calme plat fait un bien fou. Terminé la houle, les vagues, le besoin de tout ranger à bord, maintenant le verre peut rester posé sur la table, tout peut reprendre son désordre habituel sur le bateau, rien ne tombera ! Et puis le cour d'eau se resserre. Les deux rives commencent à se rapprocher et l'ambiance de la rivière à se dessiner. La faune apparaît doucement, quelques oiseaux, des « choses » qui bougent dans les feuillages, des poissons... Quelques bras de cours secondaires partent à droite et à gauche, mais je garde l'œil braqué sur mon sondeur et n'envisage pas encore de trop m'aventurer. Et puis finalement allons-y, on verra bien ! J'avance comme cela quelques heures en compagnie d'un voilier Australien pas plus à l'aise que moi. Les rives se rapprochent doucement d'Aurora, la quille talonne parfois, je n'ai plus que 2 ou 3 mètres de liberté de chaque côté de la coque et pourtant à chaque lacé une excitation monte comme si le chemin devait mener à un endroit secret et magique. Finalement le chemin me mènera dans la brouissaille ! Bloqué ! La végétation bloque le passage et un demi-tour doit être envisagé sur une rivière de 10m de large et avec un bateau de 12m de long... L'affaire prendre une bonne demi-heure et à force de marche-arrière, et manœuvres en tout genre, finira par être couronné de succès.	🇬🇧 As soon as you enter the river, the flat calm feels amazing. A few branches of secondary courses leave to the right and left, but I keep my eye on my sounder and do not yet consider venturing too much. And then finally let’s go, we’ll see what happens! I’m moving forward like that for a few hours in the company of an Australian sailboat not more comfortable than me. The banks are slowly approaching Aurora, the keel is sometimes on its heels, I only have 2 or 3 meters of freedom left on each side of the hull and yet with each lacing an excitement rises as if the path should lead to a secret and magical place. Finally the path will lead me into confusion! Blocked! Vegetation blocks the passage and a half-turn should be considered on a 10m wide river and with a 12m long boat... The case takes a good half-hour and by dint of backtracking, and maneuvers of all kinds, will eventually be successful.

🇫🇷 Quelques heures plus tard, l'ancre est posée devant Kampung Tundun Buhangin. L'endroit est bien plus grand pour permettre à Aurora d'évoluer tranquillement. J'y rencontre Michtar et son fils qui m'emmène sur leur barque pour découvrir les lieux. De nombreux oiseaux croisent notre route. Egalement des komodos, des singes rouge et noirs, mais pas d'éléphants. L'accueil est très amical comme partout où je m'arrête. Je profite ainsi de quelques journées au calme avant de saluer mes hôtes et de repartir tout doucement là où le bateau va de nouveau se mettre à bouger !	🇬🇧 A few hours later, the anchor is placed in front of Kampung Tundun Buhangin.
