🇫🇷 Je suis actuellement sur l'île de Mayotte pour réaliser quelques prises de vue permettant d'alimenter mon site de stock photos : www.labanquedimagesdemayotte.com . Il s'agit d'un site d'illustration généraliste dans lequel je propose des vues terrestres, aériennes et sous-marines (photos et vidéos). Un peu de tout ! Voici dans ce post quelques unes des photographies que j'ai prises cette semaine du ciel à la mer.

🇫🇷 Mayotte est connue pour son lagon. C'est à la fois le contour de l'île mais aussi le cœur de l'île. Il y a à Mayotte plus de surface de lagon que de surface terrestre. Les écosystèmes du lagon sont extrêmement nombreux. Un espace environnemental très riche en terme de biodiversité, mais également le seul réel potentiel économique. Sur cette vue de drone, vous observez le récif situé autour des îlots Choisi dans le nord du lagon. Cette vue paradisiaque laisse imaginer un paradis sous-marin débordant de coraux et de poissons. Ceci était vrai il y a encore quelques mois en arrière. Aujourd'hui, les fonds sous)marins de ce lieu sont très abimés en raison du passage d'un cyclone il y a 18 mois. Mais les jeunes coraux sont en train de revenir. Ils faudra encore 2 ans dans des conditions stables pour recouvrir les fonds. Entre cyclone, et passages des effets "El Nino", le cycle des récifs coralliens oscille ainsi entre profusion de vie et aspect de cimetière.
🇬🇧 Mayotte is known for its lagoon. It is both the outline of the island and also the heart of the island. There is more lagoon area than land surface in Mayotte. The lagoon ecosystems are extremely numerous. An environmental area very rich in terms of biodiversity, but also the only real economic potential. On this drone view, you observe the reef located around the Choisi islets in the north of the lagoon. This paradisiacal view lets imagine an underwater paradise overflowing with corals and fish. This was true just a few months ago. Today, the submarine bottoms of this place are very damaged due to the passage of a cyclone 18 months ago. But the young corals are coming back. It will take another 2 years in stable conditions to cover the funds. Between the cyclone and the "El Nino" effects, the cycle of coral reefs oscillates between a profusion of life and the aspect of a cemetery.

🇫🇷 Cette langue de sable est celle qui relie deux des partie d'un des îlots Choisil du lagon de Mayotte. Sa forme et sa courbure dépendent de la saison, de la direction de ses vents et des marées du quotidien. Un lieu assez unique qui attire le tourisme local durant le week-end, mais qui reste totalement désert durant les autres jours de la semaine. Petit paradis isolé.
🇬🇧 This sand tongue is the one that connects two parts of one of the Choisil islets in the lagoon of Mayotte. Its shape and curvature depend on the season, the direction of its winds and the tides of everyday life. A rather unique place that attracts local tourism during the weekend, but which remains completely deserted during the other days of the week. Small isolated paradise.

🇫🇷 On retrouve ici les mêmes îlots et la même langue de sable vus de plus loin. Vous observez mieux le lien fait par le sable entre les deux partie de l'îlot. Le récif l'entourant est celui montré sur la première photographie de ce post. Le calme du lagon vient du fait que le pourtour de Mayotte est entouré d'une barrière de corail qui protège le lagon et empêche la houle océanique de rentrer. Vous ne pouvez pas observer cette barrière depuis cette prise de vue, elle se trouve à environ 6km au large.

The reef surrounding it is the one shown in the first photograph of this post. The calm of the lagoon comes from the fact that the outskirts of Mayotte are surrounded by a coral reef that protects the lagoon and prevents the ocean swell from entering. You cannot observe this barrier from this shot; it is about 6 km offshore.

🇫🇷 A quelques centaines de mètres des îlots Choisil, toujours dans le même secteur du nord du lagon, l'île M'Tsamboro et un îlot de sable situé juste devant. Remarquez les étendue de plateaux corallien autour de l'île. Je vous laisse admirer la vue!! Le petit bateau blanc bien placé et heureux comme un prince, c'est moi !
🇬🇧 A few hundred meters from the islets Choisil, still in the same sector of the north of the lagoon, the island M'Tsamboro and a sandy islet located just ahead. 🇫🇷 On change de secteur cette fois-ci pour se rendre autour du lagon, sur la barrière extérieure. A plusieurs endroits sur cette barrière, les effets du courant et de la houle, combinés avec la géologie de la barrière externe, créent des zones de sable qui peuvent émerger par marée basse. Il en existe entre 8 et 10 à Mayotte. Celui-ci est né il y a environ 3 ans. La carte postale est superbe.
