| Pour cette 179e édition du concours de Wildlife Photography de @photofeed, je propose ici deux photographies de tortues marines vertes. J'ai réalisé ces photographies dans le cadre d'une campagne pour alimenter le stock photos de ma banque d'images à Mayotte. Cette interface est connue sous le nom de La Banque d'Images de Mayotte. Ces tortues vertes sont très emblématiques du lagon de Mayotte. Elles sont protégées, comptées, baguées, suivies par des associations, et photographiée comme moi aujourd'hui !! Mais malgré tout cela, le braconnage se poursuit. Chaque nuit des tortues sont capturées par des braconniers. Ils les tirent en haut de plage, les retournent, et les poignardent vivantes pour découper leur viande. Il ne restera sur la plage qu'une carapace ensanglantée avec des œufs morts-nés encore accrochés au fond. Les tortues braconnées ne sont que des femelles, car seules les femelles montent sur les plages pour pondre. Le braconnage crée donc problème supplémentaire avec un déséquilibre entre mâles et femelles. Me concernant, je préfère les voir en photo ! La tortue verte est un animal sauvage qui a pour habitude de fuir l'Homme lorsqu'il le rencontre. Mais sur le lieu de cette prise de vue, les tortues vertes ont l'habitude de rencontrer des nageurs et se laissent approcher. Ce n'est pas une aide que l'on fait aux tortues en leur enlevant leur côté sauvage, mais ça permet de faire de belles photos !! |
For this 179th edition of the @photofeed Wildlife Photography contest, I am presenting two photographs of green sea turtles. I took these photographs as part of a campaign to stock photos for my image bank in Mayotte. This interface is known as the Mayotte Image Bank. These green turtles are very emblematic of the Mayotte lagoon. They are protected, counted, banded, followed by associations, and photographed like me today!! But despite all this, poaching continues. Every night turtles are captured by poachers. They pull them to the top of the beach, turn them over, and stab them alive to cut their meat. Only a bloodied shell with stillborn eggs still attached to the bottom will remain on the beach. The poached turtles are only females, as only females go up to beaches to lay eggs. Poaching therefore creates an additional problem with an imbalance between males and females. As for me, I prefer to see them in photos! The green turtle is a wild animal that usually runs away from humans when they meet them. But at the place of this shot, green turtles are used to meeting swimmers and allowing themselves to be approached. It’s not a help we give to turtles by taking away their wild side, but it allows us to take beautiful photos!! |
