For this 164th edition of the @photofeed Wildlife Photography contest, I propose here a series of photographs of humpback whales jumping. These photographs were taken this week in the bay of Sal Rei in Boa Vista in Cape Verde. We are at this period in the 'whale season', that is to say the period during which humpback whales from the North Atlantic begin a migration to come give birth and reproduce in Cape Verde. 7000 kilometers of migration to come secure the first weeks of life of the calves in temperate waters which, unlike those of the North Pole, they are not likely to succumb after a few hours due to the temperature. It will also be a question of "putting the cover" (if I may use that expression!) through scenes of reproduction which will materialize with new births next season. This is the way of life for humpback whales in this part of the world. Here, photographs of jumping and surface activity that we witness every week.
