🇬🇧 The hindtail beats are very spectacular. Tourism is generally pleased and impressed to observe such a show of force. The whale keeps its head under the water and lifts its tail out of the water to make it hit the surface. It looks nice in the photos, certainly. But this technique is used to scare off predators, orcs in general. But why do whales do that when there are no orcas on the horizon...? Well maybe because they take boats of whales watching too quickly as for predators. A gesture to tell us, "break you disturb me..." A nice paradox between "eco-tourism" and Nature... |
