Cela signifie qu'il n'est pas possible qu'une autre baleine sur la planète dispose de la même disposition de taches sur sa caudale. En d'entres mots, prendre une photo de cette caudale c'est savoir qui est cette baleine. Cela permet une identification. En regroupant les données d'autres photographes sur la planète on peut savoir où la baleine se trouvait cet hiver, l'année dernière, si oui ou non on l'a vu ici à Boa Vista par le passé, etc... La baleine dont nous avons réussi à photographier la caudale se matin ne fait pas partie de celles que nous avons déjà photographiées par le passé. reste à voir si des organismes plus importants ont un suivi de cette baleine... |
On some of these photographs you will find a print of the whale’s rear tail. This tail contains whitish spots. They are arranged in a unique way. This means that it is not possible that another whale on the planet has the same arrangement of spots on its tail. In other words, taking a photo of this caudale is to know who this whale is. It allows an identification. By combining the data of other photographers on the planet we can know where the whale was this winter, last year, whether or not it has been seen here in Boa Vista in the past, etc... The whale whose tail we managed to photograph this morning is not one of those we have already photographed in the past. It remains to be seen if larger organisms have a follow-up of this whale... |

These are pretty shots, and so lucky of you to see some whales in there. That beautiful and massive tail is so pretty. And this unique print give each of the humpback whale uniqueness. That's just cool.
