My Actifit Report Card: July 23 2026
Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday started much earlier than usual because we had an appointment for Kaia at the vet specialist. As usual, she just wanted to leave the whole time and stayed in front of the door to make sure nobody could leave without her. I remember Genepi used to do exactly the same. As for the diagnosis, there was no hesitation, the vet didn't even need X-rays, after less than a couple minutes of manipulating Kaia's leg, she confirmed she had torn her knee ligament. It wasn't really a surprise, we knew that was the most likely explanation. She understood my concern about surgery for an older dog like Kaia, but explained it was still recommended as Kaia is in pretty good health overall, and it will allow her to live out her golden years (hopefully many) more comfortably. I guess we'll go for it, but because of my upcoming traveling, it will probably not happen before early October. Two more months for Kaia to feel the pain, hopefully it's not too bad.
Anyways, back home, Le Chat showed her support, I mean you can read it on her face, right?...
After that, between work and laziness, we ended up going for our daily walk too late, after the sun was already down.
It was actually quite dark in the small forest already. I even used my light that I remembered to bring for once.
Other advantage of using a light, I can see these webs before I hit them. I hate hitting spider webs!
Once again, Le Chat waited for us just outside the forest. She pretended as usual she didn't care we were back but followed us of course.
Not when we went for one last loop in the neighborhood though. Beautiful evening again, with cooler temps and beautiful sky. Can you see the Moon on the center/right?
What about now? Just majestic...
And that was it for the day. Not a great news but an expected one to start the day, and mostly routine after that. Let's see if we can step up the activity before the week end now.
