My Actifit Report Card: August 28 2025

Hey Actifitters,

Yesterday started with a visit to the vet for Kaia. That was a bit strange because she actually seemed much better than the day before, and didn't show much symptoms. That didn't make it easy for the vet, but she confirmed what I suspected, probably a bout of kennel cough. So she prescribed antibiotics for a couple weeks but if it gets worse before, then we'll look at other options. That was a pretty good news and I also got to run several errands I've been postponing for a while, so a good morning overall.
With the sun shining, and Kaia feeling better, we spent lots of time in the yard.

Trying to get good photos of insects near the hibiscus flowers isn't as easy as it looks! But I tried! Lots of wasted photos, but a few decent ones.

We also started a short walk behind the front yard.

Forecast said rain would start in the next hour, and even with a few clouds rolling in, I didn't think it would rain.

But they were absolutely right, off by less than 10 minutes only, it indeed started raining heavily.

But it cleared out quickly, and we were back outside for a real walk, enjoying the sunset colors.

When we got to the forest, we found these 2 fawns, again at the very same place. One of them didn't even get up when they saw us, it didn't care! I find it weird to find them again like that without the mother or other deer around.

It was already getting dark in the forest though.

So we caught the last sunset colors and walked back home.

Kaia refused to eat at night, so clearly she isn't completely out of the woods, but hopefully antibiotics start helping soon. As for Le Chat, no photo today, she was around, but never in a photo worthy state...
