Taking some photos to a stranger in Mexico City

Pues me atreví. Fueron varias las personas a las que le pregunte si querían hacerse unas fotos y solo una en todo el trayecto que hice me respondió de manera positiva.

Debo decir que no es nada sencillo hacer esto en México si lo comparo con Cuba. Siempre habrá quien diga que no por cuestión de tiempo, pero en este caso muchos solo preguntaban donde las publicaría, aunque yo se las fuera a enviar. Las personas cuidan muchísimo más su privacidad fuera de Cuba, algo que poco a poco está llegando a nuestra isla, pero aún no es algo extendido como en otros lugares.

Y fue así como le hice estas tres fotos bien rápidas a Carlos, que me brindo 5 minutos para hacerle unos retratos. Aproveche el atardecer y el desenfoque de mí 50 mm para darle un buen ambiente al fondo. El resultado ahí lo tienes. Así que, si algún día te piden unas fotos en la calle, date la oportunidad. Puedes salir impresionado.

So I dared to do it. There were several people whom I asked if they wanted to take some photos, and only one person along the way I made responded positively.

I must say that it is not easy to do this in Mexico compared to Cuba. There will always be those who say no due to lack of time, but in this case, many only asked where I would publish them, even if I were to send them. People take much more care of their privacy outside of Cuba, something that is gradually reaching our island, but it is still not as widespread as in other places.

And that's how I quickly took these three photos of Carlos, who gave me 5 minutes to take some portraits of him. I took advantage of the sunset and the blur of my 50mm to give a nice background atmosphere. The result is right there. So, if someday someone asks you for photos on the street, give yourself the opportunity. You may be impressed.
